The Lake Powell Community Alliance (LPCA) held its 13th annual Lake Powell cleanup on September 20, 2025. One hundred twenty six volunteers from local neighborhoods and our co-sponsoring organizations pitched in to clean the shore along Lake Powell and the beach at Phillips Inlet. Our event, held on the 3rd Saturday of September, is timed so that we can participate with teams worldwide on International Coastal cleanup Day.
The Ocean Conservancy has sponsored this massive cleanup event for 37 years. Several months after the cleanup, our contributions to the 2024 effort, down to the last piece of microplastic, will be reported on the Conservancy’s TIDES database, and each of our teams will be listed among others with the numbers and weight of the trash items each team collected.
